Saturday, September 19 will be inaugurated in the Corrigin Public Library.
The ceremony will begin at 16.30 and will be held at the Church of S. Francesco, piazza F. Corridoni. Nelia Calvigioni attended by the Mayor, the Councillor for Culture Cesca Massimo, the Director of the Library of the Uffizi in Florence Claudia Benedict and the head of the Public Library Michael Spano. These are the services offered by the Public Library which, remember be open to the public on Wednesdays and Fridays from 15 to 19 and on Saturday from 10 to 13 and from 15 to 19: online catalog (OPAC Unimc) documentary heritage of 2000 monographs, reading rooms, consultation, external loan, reference and user assistance, community information, and bibliographic information, media center, conference rooms, guided tours, research paper and electronic catalogs, sites dedicated to web browsing, interlibrary loan, document delivery.
The Public Library of Corrigin has its origins in the historic Library of the Technical School was founded in 1866 by the Council of the teachers back and sees his first official start in 1899 when, under the name of working people's library "Luigi Firmani," was established through a joint initiative by the chief secretary of the then Municipality of Pausola, Charles Firmani and a group of fellow citizens. Since then, life was rather hectic. In 1928, for example, moved for a few years in use at the After Work "F. Corridoni finding a seat in a special room of the institution. Then in the early eighties was closed. Today, after almost two centuries of history, has found a home, along with other important cultural structure as the Municipal Art Gallery at the Palazzo-Persichetti Ugolini. His documentary heritage currently comprises about 200 monographs, divided between old and new material. Among the many valuable works (eg dictionaries, encyclopedias, multimedia) are, without doubt, referred to the rich Art Fund (texts in English, French and German) in its many facets, the wide range of classic and modern novels and a considerable section Marche. Particular, instead, seem to be the rich thematic funds related to the most important local historical figures such as Philip Corridoni and Luigi Lanzi, in addition to Corryong section and donations Bora, Cotroneo, Craig, and Marcelletti Taddei. In an effort to improve its offer of citizenship and an approach to the world of reading, it is hoped that as soon as they can make available to a number of presentations, monographs, days of meetings with authors and reading projects
